EPISODE #26 | 9:30 AM, Monday, October 12, 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic: focusing on all matters of our health
Guest: Former National Institutes of Health Manager Ashley Conway

Join breast cancer survivor and CEO of Transparent Freedom LLC Ashley Conway, popular radio host Terry Base, and Garcia Williams, executive director of The Medi, for a #COVID19 conversation! Scroll down to listen in below as Ashley discusses her diagnosis and subsequent journey, heightening your awareness and encouraging you to tend to ALL aspects of your health that should not be put off during this pandemic.

A topic particularly poignant during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, if you think you or your loved ones are too young to get breast cancer, Ashley's death-defying story will change your mind. Featured on the BET program Breast Cancer Only Made Me Stronger, she was diagnosed in November 2011, just before her 23rd birthday.

Ashley has served for more than five years as an ambassador for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides to End Breast Cancer program in Washington DC and is the owner and CEO of Transparent Freedom, LLC. Prior to that, she served as the event manager for the National Library of Medicine in the Office of Communications and Public Liaison at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She is a proud HBCU graduate of Bennett College and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. From public speaking engagements to helping plan walks, runs, and other fundraisers, she has made it her "job" to give back to the communities that helped save her on her journey.

Tune in every Monday morning to WJNI 106.3 FM or listen online at www.wjnigospel.com for a new, local conversation about COVID-19 and how it's affecting under-served populations, with information and experts that can't be found anywhere else. Past episodes of MEDI MONDAYS: The Coronavirus Edition can also be found at www.themedi.org/Medi-Mondays-Coronavirus.
